Day 89 - Strive for something

Wow March has gone by so fast. I will be doing a video blog tomorrow FOR SURE, but today I was just thinking about some life goals. I was thinking about what I am really striving for. To be honest I am not too sure. It is really tough sometimes to know what you want. Maybe a generation ago, it was a simpler time, a house, a car, and happy family was considered a success. I really think my generation is different though. Most likely we will be changing careers between 2 and 5 times. Seeking out happiness in different locations. Having kids and getting married will not be the top priority for many. It is all a blur to me at this point.

Either way, I can look back at the last 20 years and think that I did alright. All I can do is work hard now so I can say the same thing when I am 40. As long as you are careful not to get too caught up in yourself, and you can say that you have given back in some way, then I think you will be alright.

On day 100 I will launch the first video episode of my currently untitled show. Don’t forget to read that post and have the chance to receive an iPod Shuffle.

Also, if you want to keep in the loop about my upcoming projects make sure to grab my rss feed.

PS. Now that I think about it, it wouldn’t be too bad to strive for a place like this:

The Sheer Kitchen is an fully-functioning kitchen enclosed in a Vader-esque sphere. The bottom half is made of carbon fiber and sports a double sink, four burners, three bottle coolers, a retractable table and trolleys. The upper half functions as a lamp when closed, giving off a soft, ambient light, and when open pulls double duty as both an aspirator and lamp. Paired with a wall unit designed to hold the appliances as well as provide cabinet space, storage, and extra seating, the Sheer Kitchen is a complete modern cooking solution.

“I really think my generation is different though. Most likely we will be changing careers between 2 and 5 times.”

It’s true…I’m 26 and I’ve already changed careers (nurse to performing artist, although the former will likely be supporting the latter for awhile). There is so much that I want to do (personally and professionally), and making all my priorities flow together is definitely a challenge.

And, that is a hot kitchen.

Oooh thats a cool kitchen! Finally, its about time you did another video blog.

I guess you’re right, times have changed. A lot of us are bogged down into material culture, so instead of just a car, we now want the luxery car. Perhaps it’s a status thing and we want to separate ourselves from everyone else. It’s a much different world from a generation ago, much more competition. The workforce is dynamic and people are much more flexible. But as one of my favourite quote goes: find a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life. I’m not sure if that fits in but I just wanted to mention it haha.

Definitely some good points there.
